Clearpoint Agency Works with San Diego Angel Conference to Spotlight Angel Investment Fund, Educational Program and Support of Innovation Economy
Award-winning public relations agency developing messaging and strategies for one of the largest angel conferences in nation to connect early-stage companies with angel investors
SAN DIEGO – Dec. 15, 2020 – Clearpoint Agency, an award-winning public relations firm, is providing PR services to the San Diego Angel Conference (SDAC), as well as supporting the program as a Platinum sponsor. The agency is refining messaging and developing media relations strategies to raise awareness for the program, which engages promising start-ups and activates the innovation ecosystem. SDAC provides guidance through educational tracks for early-stage companies and angel investors that culminates in a final pitch competition to be held at University of San Diego on March 20, 2021 where up to $1 million in funding will be awarded.
Clearpoint has worked with the planning committee to develop messaging, media relations, and content strategies that will expand the program, which caters to three stakeholder groups: angel investors, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. The program process offers coaching and educational programs for entrepreneurs for six months prior to the final event and looks to register approximately 100 start-ups for participation by the deadline of Dec. 16. It also provides a full educational program for both novice and experienced angel investors, with a low threshold of a $6,000 investment to participate in the fund. The pitch event, which will be virtual this year, will announce winners of SDAC funding for 2021.
“Our aim is to support a robust, innovation ecosystem to support deal flow and drive the economy. Clearpoint has more than 18 years of working with both start-ups and operating companies, locally and nationally, and understands the playing field,” says Mysty Rusk, SDAC Conference Founder. “As a PR and marketing firm, Clearpoint has been instrumental as a trusted partner providing insights and coaching into media relations and communications strategies that are helping us to get the word out on a larger scale.”
Due to the pandemic, the start-up world has changed dramatically and almost all investor conferences have gone virtual. Clearpoint has been studying and advising on changes impacting the business world during the tumultuous 2020 by interviewing community leaders and publishing a series of volumes on “The Path Forward,” which outlines many of the challenges and opportunities resulting from this public health crisis. Like the San Diego Angel Conference, Clearpoint is helping innovative companies and investors see how these changes will impact them.
President of Clearpoint, Bonnie Shaw, says, “The SDAC program feeds the innovative economy like no others we’ve seen, and that’s what we’re about at Clearpoint Agency – amplifying awareness for organizations and companies that support robust growth with novel ideas and a strong vision. The low investment threshold offered by the SDAC is ideal for first-time, accredited, angel investors wanting to learn how to evaluate investment-worthy startups and conduct due diligence. The startups benefit from coaching on all aspects of fundraising and develop a career-long network of advisors and investors that is invaluable.”
