HERAE is one of the nation’s largest electronic healthcare payment service providers in the country serving healthcare insurance companies and healthcare providers.

Challenges

As healthcare reform heated up in ’09 and ‘10, Clearpoint Agency seized the opportunity for HERAE to address law makers and define how electronic transactions should be part of new standards for healthcare reform.

Solution

Clearpoint Agency recommended a letter writing campaign to secure face-to-face meetings with key federal legislators in Washington D.C. The Clearpoint team drafted a letter with key messages HERAE executives wished to impart to legislators, identified the best process to ensure top legislators received the letter, and managed the calling campaign to introduce HERAE and request face-to-face meetings.

Result

Clearpoint secured meetings with 17 law makers for HERAE’s CEO, Jim Ribelin, including offices of McCain, Boxer and Feingold. When the healthcare reform bill passed there were significant mandates for electronic payments and EFTs in healthcare, and the bill included HERAE language derived from the presentations to lawmakers.
